JHJ $20k for 2020 Challenge

The TSU School of Business Alumni Endowment Fund

for Undergraduate Student Scholarships

The TSU School of Business Alumni Endowment Fund for Undergraduate Student Scholarships was formed in 2021 to help award students with scholarships that are enrolled full-time at Texas Southern University with a designated business major within the TSU Jesse H. Jones School of Business. The leading effort and push behind the formation of the Endowment Fund began with a donation and a challenge in 2019 from TSU JHJ School of Business Alumni, Verdis, and Jasmine Wilson. Over the course of the next year, one year following the initial donation, during year 2020, approximately fifty alumni accepted the “20K Challenge” and began to make donations. Although year 2020 and 2021 our alumni and the entire world was affected by the global COVID-19 Pandemic, the 20K goal was met in the Spring of 2021.

With the combined help of the fifty individual donations consisting of fellow alumni members of the TSUNAA JHJ School of Business Alumni Chapter, other TSU Alumni, the business community, friends, and other donors, plus a donation from the Texas Southern University Alumni Association and an overall matching donation from TSU Office of Civil Rights (OCR) funds, the endowed fund will begin with $41 thousand dollars.  Our goal, over the next five years, is to grow the TSU School of Business Alumni Endowment Fund to one-hundred thousand dollars through investments and donations.  At the three-year mark, year 2024, the endowment will begin dispensing yearly for scholarship awards in perpetuity.

Your donations will help build a stronger future for our society by helping deserving students obtain a higher education college degree and become contributing business professionals working and living in our country and internationally around the globe.

When you give to the TSU School of Business Alumni Endowment Fund for Undergraduate Student Scholarships, you give to and become part of a legacy that will last forever.
