Mederick & Emma Rodgers

Endowed Scholarship

Mederick and Emma Rodgers are proud TSU alumni with a passion for spreading the word about their beloved alma mater. During their 56-year marriage, they enthusiastically shared their experiences at TSU and worked tirelessly to recruit and support students through social and fundraising activities. Mederick earned both his BS and master’s degrees in mathematics at TSU in 1966 and 1969 respectively, and Emma earned a BA in psychology from TSU in 1966 and went on to earn a master’s degree in social work from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1975.

On January 2, 2023, Mederick Harl Rodgers passed away. In honor of his life and their shared TSU experience where they met, this scholarship was created to assist STEM students in their last year of matriculation at Texas Southern University.
